Training

PLEASE JOIN THIS LIST TO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST IN LEVEL 1 TRAINING. DUE TO THE LEVEL OF INTEREST FOR LEVEL 1 TRAINING, WE WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOU WHEN A PLACE BECOMES AVAILABLE.

The Internal Family Systems (IFS) method can be learnt by anyone, is easily incorporated into professional and daily life, and can be combined effectively with a wide variety of therapeutic methods. IFS can be used by counsellors, psychotherapists, medical practitioners, dance and art therapists, and business and academic professionals. It is ideal for anyone seeking personal and spiritual growth among a community of like-minded professionals. The method is practised by thousands of therapists and other professionals throughout the USA and internationally.

You need to complete your Level 1 training before you can book a Level 2 training course, similarly completing your Level 2 course before a Level 3.

A Senior Trainer from the US Center of Self Leadership leads the program with experienced Assistants supporting learning over 88 hours online/ 2 residential retreat weeklongs (13 days in total) in a 1:3 and 1:4 ratios.

Program Assistants are selected from experienced Australian L1+ practitioners – and occasionally also with US, UK and other international practitioners (health and travel restrictions permitting).

You can apply to join an upcoming training course or workshop (online mainly and hopefully live again when health and travel restrictions relax) using the links below the Events page entry and descriptions here. Before booking your course, please confirm you have read and accept our terms and conditions.

There is extremely high demand in the Level 1 training and whilst we’d love to be able to accommodate all interested parties it is not currently possible. Please do note in the interim though, there are many other workshops available to get started and learn the basic skills, and self study options and we also recommend looking into getting a trained IFS therapist – and/or classes with accredited and experienced people whilst you wait.

You must complete IFSI’s L1 before being eligible for L2 and L3 trainings; other offerings (‘Stepping Stones’, ‘Foundations’ and PESI seminars etc) are not recognised by the IFS Institute.

Places for these trainings are selected by lottery, with places weighted for balancing gender, clinical qualification and experience, geography (regional applications preferred), and to support indigenous practitioners and communities through a bursary in each training. Offers and places in all official IFSI trainings are very limited, and we regretfully accept we cannot meet the current demand. We cannot enter into discussion about individual applications.

We do encourage community peer-learning, and getting your own therapy with a trained IFS practitioner in Australia – try the online directory of local trained IFS practitioners [https://mindbeyond.com.au/directory/ ] or the online US-global version [http://selfleadership.org/practitioners.html].

If you have already been waitlisted from earlier Level 1 applications you do not need to add your name here again.

This general interest list for IFS Institute endorsed IFS trainings in the Australian and New Zealand region (incl SE Asia) to support and manage the growing interest in the model. As there are only a limited numbers of endorsed international IFS trainers available, we do have only limited trainings with limited places in any Level 1 Training. We will make as many opportunities as possible, and seek to support the growing practitioner base with a variety of extension workshops and trainings.

Pleaseget in touch if you have any queries about your course booking.
