He is IFSI’s International Partner in Australia and New Zealand\, and is a Level 3 IFS practitioner with training specializations working with couples and working with survivors of trauma. Simon has facilitated and arranged more than 540 days of Internal Family Systems trainings and workshops since 2015. He has organised and led trainings of Coherence Therapy\, Dreamwork in Groups\, Systemic Family and Group Constellations\, Person Centred Experiential Therapies\, and Polyvagal informed Clinical Practice in the region. He has presented at the US annual IFS Conference as well as in workshops in Japan\, Singapore\, Hong Kong and across Australia and New Zealand. \n__________________________________________________________________________ \nTESTIMONIALS \nTestimonials from attendees of Simon’s recent Applied IFS Demos workshops in this online format: \nSimon’s explanations at crucial points during the demos were perfect. Each time a question popped up for me\, he’d stop the video and explain an important step but even more importantly for me\, he’d highlight a subtle nuance of IFS therapy\, which I would have missed if I’d just read about it or it hadn’t been pointed out. AND to be able to ask individual questions about the demo was so beneficial. \nVery inspirational and consolidating! \nThe format of the course\, watching demonstrations with explanations interspersed by an experienced trained therapist\, assisted with understanding the IFS process and provided tangible examples/suggestions that can be readily incorporated into your own practice. \nI found the online demos so valuable. There is nothing to me like learning like this. It was such a lovely slow pace I was able to connect and process what was being said. \nDemos provide more insight and depth to the IFS experience\, from both client and therapist perspectives. Very informative and helpful to witness IFS in action. Highly recommended. \nI found the demo course to be so valuable and I am very thankful for the opportunity to participate! The visual/experiential format of watching demos was excellent and I felt that my “book learning” was greatly enhanced by seeing the use of IFS concepts in-session. My thanks to those who were willing to be filmed for this learning to take place. \nExcellent way of learning the techniques of IFS. Simon has an easy way of explaining the steps in realtime\, and presents the application of IFS with such compassion and care. \nA very good display of IFS in various contexts . Very informative\, well presented and especially well explained and demonstrated. Would highly recommend. \nIt was very helpful seeing the theory put into practice. The therapist’s approach was very appropriate to each situation and that was an important aspect to witness – that this deep work should not be hurried or even outcome-driven. \nIt is always good to see a demo. I find that it stays more in the memory\, brings my book learning to life. \nThe dynamic of watching a demonstration and then having the key IFS processes and questions explained really helps with understanding how the skills/techniques can be applied. The four demonstrations illustrated the therapeutic power of a number of key elements including: maintaining a non-judgmental and curious stance; exploring how the client is living the story in their lives; using the clients own language wherever possible; acknowledging\, accepting and seeking permission from all parts. In doing so\, I also found it encouraged me to be more aware of when I was able to use these techniques and when I slipped into my “need to be the expert” parts. Overall\, while I am still learning IFS\, I feel my general counselling skills have been enhanced. \n________________________________________________________________________ \nInternal Family Systems (IFS) is the signature work of Dr Richard Schwartz PhD\, more at www.IFS-Institute.com \nAs a clinical treatment IFS is rated effective to improve general functioning and well-being by the US National Registry for Evidence-based Programs and Practices as an evidence-based practice. In addition\, it has been rated promising for each of: improving phobia\, panic\, and generalized anxiety disorders and symptoms; physical health conditions and symptoms; personal resilience/self-concept; and depression and depressive symptoms. Participants in the APPLIED IFS – Online Demos will deepen the basics of the IFS approach through examples\, commentary\, and reflection. \nIn this series of recorded video demonstrations and discussion\, a small study group will build on their existing knowledge from the IFS Introduction and offer discussion and further learning with 4 demonstrations of recorded client sessions showing working with one client in a Brief Therapy format. \nCommence with either Series I (4 individual sessions)\, Series II (one client over 4 sessions) or Series III (4 single sessions) in the Applied IFS Demo workshops series. All use IFS as the lens or central spine of the work\, offering practical modelling and application through an experiential orientation. \nClinical trainer and IFS therapist Simon d’Orsogna will offer these Applied IFS Demos Online\, in group sessions via the ZOOM platform (8 hours in each series). \nThe size of these 4 session workshops is limited to 18. These sessions will NOT be recorded. For more read here. \nFurther Internal Family Systems Institute (IFSI) Level 1-2-3 trainings in Australia and NZ are planned to run in 2025 and 2026. This Introductory IFS workshop will be useful preparation for a formal training program as well as ongoing learning. \nFor further information including ticketing CLICK HERE!

Despite loss of media attention\, the Australian infection rates and hospital numbers are still significant\, and we hope to take care of those around us by taking good care in gathering together. Long Covid is a reality. \n  \n\nTestimonials from attendees of Simon’s recent IFS workshops … \nThe workshop inspired me to become more committed to using the model and developed my confidence. Group discussions\, demonstrations and small group work created a positive and open learning atmosphere. Simon was living the values of IFS through openly embracing all the parts in the room. I had the opportunity to work with my own parts in a supportive atmosphere. \nFun\, informative\, experiential\, respectful\, and inspiring. \nUseful\, effective\, grounding\, and gave me more confidence in using IFS \nReally enjoyed Simons’s presence\, authenticity\, compassion\, and expertise in the field. It made for an engaging and fun workshop and I came away inspired by IFS. \nAn absolute must to attend if you are wanting to explore the use of IFS in your practice. \nI really appreciate Simon’s process oriented style and his embodiment and refined understanding of IFS – he lives and breaths it. \n  \nFor further information including ticketing CLICK HERE!
